Our facing bricks are nearly always made to order. We keep a stock of the standard sizes but most historic buildings have a character of their own, which can only be preserved by providing the correct size brick in a range of colours that will successfully blend with the original.
As with all restoration, sympathy is required not only of the material but also of the workmanship and the design. We work closely with builders, architects, and surveyors where possible to ensure that the bricks we produce are right for the building. We can work from photographs and samples and visit the site if required.
Generally, due to the ages of the buildings we typically restore, we work in imperial measurements, but we can make metric bricks if required. We make a complete range of sizes to suit all ages of building:
15th – 16th Century facings
from 1 7/8”– 2 ½" by 8 ½”- 11" long
17th – 18th Century facings
from 2 3/8” to 2 5/8" by 8” – 9" long
19th – 20th Century facings
from 2 ½” - 3" by 8 ¾” - 9 ¾ " long
Metric sizes 215 x 1025.5 x 65mm
and 225 x 112.5 x 75mm
